19 & Vested

Let me start with this…we had no intention of building a business! Preparing one batch of wine, 6 gallons, 25-30 bottles, seemed easy enough for me. We could store them easily, use spare space in the house, no big deal. Well, when you put a nerd like Steve on a task to make the perfect wine, he geeks out a bit. One thing led to another, we ordered more supplies, soon we had a freight delivery because we had ordered so many supplies! At that point, it was really time to expand from a personal wine collection, to building a collection that is worthy of sharing.

We spent days (maybe a week or two) debating on what to call the brand, put some funny, unique, and weird names on the list. Ultimately, we wanted a name that represented Steve and I, then 19 & Vested was born. Why 19 & Vested?

I was 19 when I met my husband and after we were married, he would tease me that I wasn’t a true Jackson (“vested”) until I had been with him for as many years as I was old when we met. Of course, no other Jackson had ever heard this rule! This has been a joke in the Jackson family for years and when Steve suggested it, it seemed quite fitting. A unique representation of who we are and the small things in our relationship that bring us closer. We only hope that the wine is worthy of the name!
